Karen Greenhalgh is a proven leader in business and community service.
Karen Greenhalgh has served in the Virginia House of Delegates since 2022. She has prioritized legislation to cut taxes on and expand opportunities for our veterans, create good-paying jobs, and get tough on violent crime.
A mom, small business owner, and community leader, Karen has worked tirelessly on behalf of Virginia Beach.
Karen founded and developed Heritage Woodworks Inc., a highly successful custom cabinet manufacturing facility, which has spawned several growing Virginia Beach businesses.
After selling Heritage Woodworks, Karen devoted herself to community service and worked at medical centers with women who needed extra support during their pregnancies.
Managing these medical centers included meeting regulations, such as HIPAA’s, that mandate the privacy and security of patient information. Karen recognized the growing need for addressing privacy and cybersecurity risks in health care and started Cyber Tygr. In her continuing education, Karen earned three certifications:
- HealthCare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner (HCISPP) – ISC2
- Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) – HCCA
- Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) – HCCA
Karen’s business quickly became a success, and Cyber Tygr now supports leading-edge organizations like Mayo Clinic and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). She often traveled the U.S. sharing cybersecurity best practices at national and regional health care conventions on behalf of the Department of Health and Human Services Cybersecurity Work Group.
In the House of Delegates, Karen utilized her business acumen and expertise in medicine to enact commonsense policies that lower health care costs on consumers and create jobs.
She will never stop putting our community first.
In Richmond, Karen is working to make Virginia Beach safer, unleash our local economy, and stand up for our veterans.
