Taxes:
In Richmond I have been proud to support cutting income taxes on Virginians. With rising inflation and costs pushed by failed policies we must provide relief to Virginians who are struggling. That’s why I supported cutting the state income taxes and passed legislation to reduce utility bills on Virginia families.
Schools:
We need to get back to basics in our schools; too many school systems are focused on pushing an agenda over helping our kids learn what they need to know. I have worked to help improve our educational standards, so that regardless of zip code every kid has a chance to succeed. Through guiding the education of my own children, I have experience with public school, private school, and homeschooling. I understand the right of parents to be in control of the education of their children, which includes having choices.
Job Creation:
Connecting hard working Virginians with good paying jobs means helping improve workforce development programs and opportunities for ALL Virginians. I have made it a priority to invest in workforce development programs and other initiatives so that every Virginian who wants a job can get one that supports them and their families.
Public Safety:
Law Enforcement and our first responders work every day to keep our community safe and deserve our support. I have proudly voted to give raises to law enforcement and will always back the blue. I have also worked to repeal the dangerous crime legislation passed by the previous General Assembly, which made our neighborhoods less safe. We need to hold criminals accountable.
Transportation:
Hampton Roads deserves its fair share of transportation dollars, rather than Virginia continuing to support spending on costly boondoggles in Northern Virginia. I have worked with our delegation to ensure we have the resources we need to fix 64, expand the HRBT, and solve road flooding.
Veterans:
I was the proud co-sponsor of legislation to end taxes on military retirement benefits in Virginia. I also supported the Veteran’s Promise initiative to help Vets who learned skills in the service more easily transition those into jobs in civilian life. Our veterans are our greatest resource, and we MUST provide them with the opportunity to stay in Virginia or come here when their service concludes.
Protecting Life and Supporting Women:
I believe that all life is precious, and that is why I supported Governor Youngkin’s approach to limit elective abortion in Virginia to 15 weeks with reasonable exceptions for the horrendous crimes of rape and incest, or, to protect the life of the mother.
I have worked with women and care deeply for expectant mothers. Women faced with the decision whether or not to keep their child deserve our love and support, but the Commonwealth must also do more to ensure young mothers and families have the resources they need to care for their child.
